                                                         6th Grade Physical Education Curriculum

 

A combination of motor skill development, as well as, team and individual sport development is taught during six grade. Also, a multitude of opportunities for cardiovascular improvement are introduced.

                                                              6th Grade Physical Education Units

 

     A. Orientation: 1 class

 

     B. Cooperative Activities: 1 class

 

     C. Fitness and Conditioning Games: 4 classes of each  (Ultimate Frisbee, and Soccer)
 

     D. Fitness Testing: 3-4 classes  (Sit-Ups, Standing Long Jump, Arm Hang, Sit & Reach,
                                                              Shuttle Run, Pacer, 50 Yard Dash
)
 

     E. Dance/Rhythms: 3 classes

 

     F. Volleyball: 6-8 classes  

  

     G. Stunts and tumbling: 8-10 classes

 

     H. Racquet Skills: 8-10 classes  (Ping pong, wall ball, and Badminton)
 

     I. Basketball: 6-8 classes

 

     J. Jameson Ball: 3 classes

  

    K. Over the Line: 3 classes
