                         2 – Exemplary, goes above and beyond all expectations.
                         1 – Acceptable, meets most but not all expectations.
                         0 – Unacceptable, does not meet expectations.

                                 

                                                60 Points possible each semester.

Ms. Nicholson P.E. classes are graded in four categories: Each category weighing 25% of the grade:

•     Quizzes
•     Class Preparation-Dressing Out 
•     Effort/Attitude
•     Participation

Students are expected to behave accordingly to the classroom rules
To act safely a student must:
* Maintain body control, staying always on ones feet unless otherwise
   directed.
* No baseball like sliding allowed on the gym floor.
* Stop when the whistle blows.
* Use equipment as directed.
Effort, Attitude, and Behavior are expected at all times
Positive behaviors and attitude can be defined as:
* Respectful communication with peers, teacher, and self.
* Active listening.
* No put downs.
* Accept anyone as a partner.
* Always try your best.
* Help others.
* Be kind.
* Take care of the equipment.
* Play by game rules.
* Take turns.
* Follow classroom rules.
* Demonstrate good sportsmanship.
Students are expected to cooperate and give their best effort at all times during physical education.
Expectations for cooperation:
* Stay on task.
* Follow all rules.
* Accept all levels of partners abilities.
* Encourage classmates.
* Actively participate.
* Use indoor voices.
* Dress quickly and start warm-ups.

All students are expected to take some level of risk and try activities they might not feel they are able to demonstrate well
Expectations for trying your best:
* Never give up.
* Continue to practice.
* Use critical elements provided by the teacher.
* Use equipment appropriately.
* Help others who might be struggling.

Dressing appropriately for Physical Education
Expectations for dressing out:
* Shorts and shirts must be changed from school attire.
* No watches, ring, necklaces, or other jewelry.
* Long hair pulled back for safety reasons.
* Must wear sneakers.
* No chewing gum.
